Comment:
76:13 | "Bending sound, dredging the ocean, lost in my circle..." -- David Bowie, Station to StationIf I knew it was going to turn out this way...I would have started here! The third and, for the foreseeable future, final edition in this series. All sounds began as 60 to 120 second sample mp3s, downloaded from artist web-sites, and then transformed.
And, in an attempt to infuse a thematic element to the overall mix atmosphere, tracks 1 & 16 are morphed, shortened versions of tracks 9 & 12, respectively.
This finally represents the sound I was looking for @ the outset; but is still very much a product of parts one and two & the rather lengthy (and audacious) learning curve. Enjoy!
Feedback:
Can't what to see where this leds me.
I am really looking forward to this one GAB.
Looking forward to entering your laboratory.
F@nt@stic. I'll be entering th@t l@b @lso..
How the heck did I miss the second installment? The first must have zoned me out, like coming out of a meditation sometimes. Where am I? Who am I?
An audacious use of Audacity. And bodacious too.
Interesting as usual. Amazing series.
Thanks for the feedback; I hope everyone enjoys the mix.
And, from the 15 Minutes of Fame
department, this series caught the attention of ambient artist
Vir Unis (I morphed a track of his for part 3), owner of net.label
Atmoworks. As a result, I'll be producing 2 Atmo-Artist
compilation mixes that will either be sold online or become part of a Buy 1/Get the Mix, site
promotion, later this summer. When they're ready, I'll post them here along with a link to the site. Vir's also
developing a Forum for Atmoworks and has a Free Download with Membership deal in the works...
(the problem, of course, will be exactly WHAT to do with ALL that royalty money ~;- ])

Nice one Gene..
Haven't been around much lately, and currently having some computer issues, but very much looking forward to this when technology (and children) cooperate. Promises to be a gem....
I don't want you to get the feeling that I only listen to your mixes when it's gray and raining, but it happened that way again. only this time, there was road construction outside the open office window; they're cutting up the street with a saw and jack-hammer. so your mix felt something like an ambient Brian Eno soundtrack for a documentary on industrial chaos. wonderful! "Never Alone" and "Gradation A" were especially nice.
