Comment:

this one was wayyy to fun and exciting for my own good haha.
it all started on COLOURlovers. I like looking at the color palettes. they inspire me. Well, this one palette, "Part-Time Super Girl," by the fabulous color coordinator Miss Faded Jeans caught my eye.
Then I thought... a whole idea, a scheme, and a scenario. I thought of a girl who like those colors most of all, and i thought that part-time super girl could mean that the other half of the time she wastes her like away working lame part-time convenience or grocery store jobs (a la 90s teen junk culture). Then I started imagining how she'd dress (those would be her favorite colors) and what kinda music she'd like between crime fighting and price checking snapples. I saw her as like a um sort of mix between a ton of girls i know right now, tank girl, sarah polley or katie holmes from "go," a spice girl or two, with lots of femininity but lots of nineties teen-angst-girl attitude. So I put all these songs together, some harder edges, with some softer edges, and some downright bubblegum snapping songs, because thats what this imaginary girl likes, bitches, strong women, and girly girls.
if i was straight this girl would be my totally perfect girlfriend, this mix being a sweet counterpoint to most of my current taste (excluding Alanis Morissette... but i felt it had to be in there.) It also kinda fits in a little bit with my last mix, Girls! Girls! Girls!.
I included this one for download in .rar format, with the colour palette from COLOURlovers so you can make your own cover if you like, but keep the theme going!!here's a swatch of the color combination:

I think that is the oddest genesis of a mix I've ever heard of, but it turned out wonderfully. And I'm a huge fan of colourlovers...!

I like most everything on here, especially the Jill Sobule track. I've seen her perform that live a couple of times.
