Comment:
"He has no staff nor tuft of sacred thread. He faces heat and cold, pleasure and pain, honor and dishonor with equal calm. He is not affected by calumny, pride, jealousy, status, joy or sorrow, greed, anger or infatuation, excitement, egoism, or other goads; for he knows he is neither body nor mind. . Having renounced every selfish desire, he has found his rest in the Lord of Love. Wisdom is the staff that supports him now. Those who take a mendicant's staff while they are still at the mercy of their senses cannot escape enormous suffering. The illumined man knows this truth of life." - The Paramahamsa Upanishad, translated by Eknath EaswaranAscetic Guitar: Why we don't listen to the Beatles all the time. This mix is an exorcism.Feedback:
this is phenomenal - the closing two songs & the richard thompson are just great - any chance of a link?
I believe every one of these songs is in my collection with the exception of #1. I'll have to chase that down because this mix looks tremendous.
Oh, wow!And, yeah...would love a link.
Kathryn has it that the best songs should be no longer than 3.32 with the exception of Primitive Painters by Felt. I pushed her to the limit with Autobahn. Still 13 minutes of Robert Fripp may seem a little tiring. Bar Van the rest of this interests me.
Always excited to see abangaku on the boards.
I agree with Tom and somewhat with Kathryn, but I think these guys could maybe keep my interest that long. Glad to see you back.
KathrynandRupert (and anyone else), if you think *these* are long songs, you should check out my 3-track mix. Possibly you'll say those aren't really "songs"; I'll say then that these aren't really, either.
Wonderful. Love the opening trio especially.
