Comment:

First of all, I want to give a hearty shout out to RetroJoe for his Playlist mixes of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, not to mention the many other fine mixes he has posted through the years. Though I am a realtive newcomer to AOTM, I have spent plenty of time paging through his mixes, finding nuggets aplenty.
Anyway, in the interest of being fair and balanced, I figured John McCain should have his own mix compilation, too. In fact, it needed to be a double CD (links for each above) since he is running against two people at the moment. I was going to title it "Use Your Illusion," but Guns n' Roses beat me to it. I did, however, snatch one of their songs off the album to put on the mix.
It has been said that McCain doesn't much care for music (And what kind of person doesn't?). Nevertheless, his people saw fit to use the Mellencamp song for a while as part of the campaign. That's on here as well as two joke songs which are making the rounds of the web along with a couple snippets of words of wisdom from the candidate.
One of my favorite lines from McCain is this one: "I am older than dirt and have more scars than Frankenstein." Yes, he has a sense of humor, but of more concern is this stance: "Only the most deluded of us could doubt the necessity of this war." Is there a better reason to cast a democratic vote this November?
Thanks again to RetroJoe for the concept and to my friend, Bruce Bennett, for providing playlist ideas. Hope y'all enjoy it and here's the Quiz: What prominent actress clashed with McCain regarding the Vietnam War and his years of captivity? Correct answer gets a copy of the mix.

Absolutely love the concept and will run right over to take a look at RetroJoe's inspiring work. The tracks you chose are terrific and all but say it all. The only omission that comes to mind is, perhaps, something from the "Clueless" soundtrack...I'm also getting a big kick out of the Kane reference...Touche! Great work!

I'm going to guess that Jane Fonda clashed with McCain, but that seems too obvious. ;-) There are an infinite number of reasons to vote Democratic this November and the war is only one of them.

Laughing so hard my sides hurt! You are prolific on so many levels.

Very well done, I also love the Kane reference. I have only made a mix for Obama, I don't have enough death metal or gumption to do Hillary and now I definitely don't need to do one for McCain since you have taken the cake. I would also guess Fonda, but that does seem easy enough.

Rob has the right guess, obvious though it may be, and wins the quiz. There's also a spot in the administration waiting for him if he wants it.

Since Use Your Illusion has been taken, what about Use Your Illusion II?Like the Ventures and Pistols tracks in particular...

Thanks AR. Never thought of a mix for McCain, but if I did I probably would have done it with Barbara Ann by the Beach Boys (if Weird Al couldn't be coaxed into doing an updated cover version). Frankenstein by Edgar Winter might also be appropriate since McCain obviously has had a cloned heart of Bush transplanted into him. The REM song does seem appropriate except I "..would mind" and probably end up hooked on pain killers as a result. Another song that comes to mind as being a possible inclusion is Living in the USA by Steve Miller, but I don't think he would enjoy being on such a mix dedicted to a man who most likely really didn't inhale, ever. Other unhappy inductees would likely be Bruce Springsteen, The Gratful Dead, The Beatles, and now that I mention it there would probably be at least a few others who would gladly go AWOL from a McCain drafted army. Thanks again for the spirited entertainment (and glad I could be a bouncing board).

This is a brilliant mix. Side 2, in particular is absolutely flawless. The recipient is one of the sites most underrated mixers as well. Good ole Joe...

If he is elected as your president I suggest you start a McCain mutiny. Lots of goodies here especially the Edmunds, Pistols and Clash tracks.

Cool. It thrills me so much to see that you had the gumption to take on the personality of someone you (as far as I can tell from your comments) really don't like at all, and use him as the subject of your mix. The art is awesome, too (especially the left side, how long did it take you to make that?), and, oh yeah, the music... "Old Man" and "Disorder in the House" are especial favorites.
