Inner Landscape
Comment:
Men and women take delight in landscapes because the din of the modern, technological world that we inhabit has become the vacuum that nature abhors. Some of us - probably all of us on AOTM - find inner peace in music. It is our very own "Inner Landscape" that provides beauty and joy. Canadian writer Margaret Atwood has said, "No one knows what causes an outer landscape to become an inner one." Perhaps it is what we are seeing that brings to mind a verse or melody. A couple days ago, I looked upon a stream in a park where I was practicing t'ai chi and thought of an oasis in the desert of the city. You can see where I'm going with this.Oasis was/is an important band for me in that their songs hit the spot at the time when they were on top of the music world. "Don't Look Back In Anger" seemed to say the right words when a relationship was ending. I loved the line, "Take that look from off your face because you ain't ever gonna burn my heart out." It's too late to make it right so she walks away. But it tells you not to look back in anger at it, but in happiness, because it happened. "Her soul slides away."
So, yes, this mix is built around two of my favorite Oasis songs along with 12 others that fit the mood. If you like, download and play, and take a trip inside your mind.
The quiz: As Travis sings in their song on the mix, "What is a wonderwall anyway?" Correct answer gets the copy of the mix, tracked and with artwork.

Feedback:
Interesting to read about how Oasis figures in your musical landscape. Thanks for the link. Best wishes for your sonic tranquillity.
Calm & tranquil "landscapes"? Melodic, soothing drift & (slip)streams? Who the heck would take the time to listen, much less mix THAT stuff??? ;- ]
...downloading now...this looks awesome!

I am also an Oasis fan, especially of that same period, right before they broke big. This is my kind of inner landscape.
love the oasis tracks
Don't Look Back In Anger was their finest moment. I once sang Wonderwall at a pop quiz which I also didn't win because other than being a George Harrison Lp I don't know what it means.
Looks great...love the Oasis and Pogues stuff.
