Comment:

I've fancied doing a mix of modern tracks, influenced by the Wonderful Phil Spector Wall of Sound for a while now. Upon near completion a couple of days ago, I realised it needed a couple of the old classics thrown in to make it flow a little better. And now it does, and for me is a great listen.. Enjoy!

Really like this...the old and new stuff came together seamlessly. #9-13 and 19-end are my favorite bits.

Looks as good as always. Three bands with the suffix -ettes! Nice. I like them all, but especially The Ronettes.

Phil Specter was a very strange individual but there is no denying his greatness as a producer. Wonderful mix.

oh my god sammy, this is magnificent! phil spector is my all-time favorite producer, i'm such a sucker for the wall of sound & all of its reverent imitators - this is just gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous. LOVE that lucky soul track, & i knew there was a reason the shins song was my favorite from wincing the night away - love the JAMC, matthew sweet, mag fields, ramones, ronettes, apples in stereo, MBV...SO much good stuff here. i wish to christ i could actually access the MOTW page, because this would be it without a doubt.

Great concept, smashingly executed. (Some of you Brit contributors have "coloured" my vocabulary!)

Oooh Ooberman....and K and I were going through our singles the other night and she dug out an Ultrasound 7" and couldn't understand why she bought it.....still this is lovely anyway and two of the bands featured will appear on the mix I'm about to post.

This looks fabulous. So much great stuff has followed on PS's footsteps. I haven't seen kwan_dk around here in a while but he would totally dig this. And so do I.

Non-stop brilliance. You really can't go wrong in making a mix influenced by Phil Spector. Tis a shame for what has happened to the man.

Okay, he's got bad hair and you wouldn't want to be around him when he's angry, but he sure knew how to make a record sound great. Looks like a fine tribute to the PS studio magic. I haven't heard track 1, but I have heard the Johnny Boy Theme, which sounds like three Spector singles played simultaneously. I'll take a shot at downloading this tonight.

Well, Professor, another A+. The Phil Spector sound is such a gorgeous milestone in the rock and roll canon, and you've captured it so beautifully. I especially like the 10-13 run, of course, and the amazing Fabienne DelSol, with whom I fell instantly in love with as a member of The Bristols on your last submission singing "The Way I Feel About You"...Bravo!!!

Thanks for a lovely sountrack to my evening. I just knew 1,2,9 had to be here. I hadn't interpreted some of the others (apart from the obvious) in that mode but on listening it stands up perfectly. The mutts nuts mate.

I'm with anthony lombardi here; this is gorgeous. turns out I'm a big fan of the wall of sound, but I'd never realized it consciously until now. Johnny Boy/Mercury Rev/Fablenne DelSol trio is a highlight, as are Pipettes, Raveonettes, Dion and My Bloody Valentine tunes. and of course Ramones, Lush, Jesus & Mary Chain...yadda yadda yadda. and your cover art is the perfect compliment to the music. well done!

You did a great job with this. I think it'd be a hard concept to pull off, but you really nailed that sound.
