Comment:

For the hell of it--my first in more than two months, for reasons which will become clear soon enough. Title by Mr. Kristofferson. [Epilogue (5/30/08): The first 33-40% of the "story" that really isn't much of a story can be found at http://www.artofthemix.org/FindAMix/getContents.asp?strMixID=119897. The rest--which is also fits snugly onto the compact disc format and that does not involve any personal drama--will probably make itself known around here in the not-so-distant future.)

Kris and Van and Jr are all fine and Didn't I (blow your mind this time) is sublime.

Track no.4 the best British no.1 ever as I have declared many a time. Aphex Twin followed by Kris Kristofferson, that's got to be an AOTM first. Excellent.

looks really cool, though I could never quite get into that Lou Reed tune (or album).

Wow, I haven't heard that Jah Wobble track for, well, I'm listening to it right now - but *before* that it must be 10 years. Love the closer here, and Gangsters, The MF track, and a whole lot more. Great mix.

It has been a while, Rob. Glad to see you're back. Man, that Modey Lemon track is absolutely amazing. Also digging the 10-12 stretch. Nice.

Good to see you back with the proverbial FTHOI mix. Not much that I know here, but what else is new. I've been trying to get into the Last Shadow Puppets disc, but I haven't warmed up to it yet.

I was just thinking the other day that I hadn't seen a FTHOI mix from you in some time. This mix looks fucking STELLAR, as usual, dude. Love the Junior Kimbrough, MOB, Gnarls, Delfonics, Lou Reed and the Last Shadow Puppets tracks. I'm anxious to hear that Modey Lemon track, as I've dug stuff in the past that I've heard from them a whole bunch. Oh yeah, Sparks!! How could I forget Sparks, man? I hope you're hanging in there, my friend.

This is the most mysterious FTHOI mix I've seen from you. I hope it's a good news kind of story. Great mix, by the way.

Serious acid flashback...No, wait...Just another stellar mix...Jesus, man, if it ain't the Aphex leading into Kristofferson, it FUCKING MUST BE the Bluesbreakers leading into The Delfonics...We will need the story... may I suggest that we capture it on film, so we can break outta this hole???

The mystery of it's origins aside, this is a damn fine mix. As I listened to The Last Shadow Puppets recently I wondered if you too were a fan. Been digging that Van LP myself lately and Jah Wobble is certainly rediscovery worthy.

What a wonderfully eclectic mix. MoB, Specials, Last Shadow Puppets, Sparks, Magnetic Fields, and lots of other faves. Rob, you never disappoint.
