i just broke up with my lady friend after a year and a half. i'm pretty sad and needed a mix to pick me up, but at the end of the mix there, i couldn't resist ending on a bittersweet death cab for cutie note.

i just went through a similar situation, though i find myself gravitating towards wistful, melancholic pop during these times (&, come to think of it, all the time) - i love the hot chip, jens lekman & wolf parade tracks, & that closing death cab song has been stinging for me lately it's so close to home
