Comment:

Disc five. Last tracks cut: "The Lantern," "Rip This Joint," "Sad Day," "Undercover of the Night," "All Down the Line," "Mother's Little Helper," "The Under Assistant West Coast Promotion Man," "If You Really Want to Be My Friend,""Stop Breaking Down," "Dandelion," "Midnight Rambler," "All About You," "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)", "Starfucker," "Hide Your Love," "Too Rude," "Before They Make Me Run," "Shattered," "Wanna Hold You," "Slipping Away," "Prodigal Son," "This Place is Empty," "Losing My Touch," "Connection," "Slave," "2,000 Light Years from Home," "Till the Next Goodbye," even "Start Me Up" is pretty cool, if massively overplayed/ruined by sporting events, etc. ... I'm sure the list could go on for quite awhile. And yes, I recognize the guilty pleasure value of "She Was Hot" and (to an infinitely lesser degree, as I actually love this song) "Emotional Rescue."

Any reason why you didn't make this a double-cd too? The tracks cut are definitely worthy, though I guess you were cautious of watering it down too much at a point.

"waiting on a friend," "best of burden" & "miss you" are favorites here - i really think some girls was not only their last truly great album, but also one of their very best - great series, as always

Great series Rob! I have to admit, I have no idea what album tracks 15 and 16 are from.

Shows the quality of this amazing band when you can compile an almost faultless 5 disc set and still have me weeping at the last tracks cut. Rip this Joint?? Although cutting anything from 'Exile' must've been tough..

I agree with Sammy re: Rip This Joint but, having said that, this whole compilation is just staggering.

Another epic & extraordinary multi-disc set, Rob. My RS guilty pleasure is Crazy Mama, which I don't see here -- though I could be wrong again ;) So have you seen the Scorcese film?

I never was really got into the Rolling Stones as much as I probably should. I've heard all of there albums from the 60's and liked a lot of songs but never entirely got into there albums. Rob, you picked a lot of my faves from there 60's period. In fact I really wouldn't change a thing.
