Comment:
Well, rather than rip off Terry and Rob again, I decided to devise my own moniker for a mix with no real purpose except to spread the gospel of our own musical tastes. Looking back, it seems that I was still coming down from my venture with Cliff that wrapped up last week. In any case, there was a day a few days ago when Pandora and KDHX both played the title track here, so it seemed as good a sign as any to make a mix featuring the song. Then when I saw the perfectly misspelled tribute to the man on El Tri's (nTe Three Souls in My Mind) third album and it took off from there
Feedback:
This is so good.
So much to like and some to learn. I'm just going to have to learn some rudimentary spanish.
Looks pretty great from what I know...!
I KNEW that dude watching me at the beach was a cartoonist. I just fragging knew it.
He had that shifty look in his eye.
And a pen and sketchpad in his hands.

this really looks fantastic, derek, one of your best, i'd say - i love 2, 5, 10, 11, 14 & 15 in particular - can't wait to hear it in full
cohen to Caribou are magnificent
Love that Acid House Kings track. I even know a few of the others. That cartoon makes me wince (I think you can tell it's not Kathryn commenting.)
I put together all that I have (which is 12 tracks), and listened to as much of it as I could, and you know what? I'm guessing that this is wonderful. Even if half of it is incomprehensible to us non-translators.
Love the Hendrix, Cohen, Caribou, SFA, and Solomon Burke tracks and have to hear the Thompson (I'm assuming) cover.
Muchos Varietios - or something like that. A great sampler of all things Doowad. Fine stuff.
That opening duo is brilliant. You had me had that point, amigo.
Any significance to the 1967-2008 span in this list?
Another wonderful submission.

Great Black Keys and Raconteurs tracks, but you knew I was gonna say that. Like the Hendrix, Cohen, and Cowboy Junkies too...
Great stuff. Love the Cohen -> Caribou and Richard Thompson -> Cowboy Junkies especially. And so castles made of sand fall in the sea, eventually.
Oh, this is just superb, Derek. Love that Raconteurs track and I agree with Curtis on the Cohen->Caribou segment. Fine, fine stuff.
Yes, this shows that a certain someone has wonderful taste in music. Your taste in cartoons however is a bit disturbing.
I'll testify to this gospol. I really enjoyed listening to this yesterday.
Worship. Love the JHE, Cohen and SFA picks especially.
