Comment:

I found yet another one of my old mix CDs while packing for my move. This one is probably either from 2003 or 2004. It's nice to find a mix you made a while back if you're a sentimental sap like me. You get the opportunity to reminisce and look at yourself and how you've changed personally or maybe how your taste has changed.

Anyway, I love the Soulwax remix of Ladytron's "Seventeen" even though I'm not typically a big remix fan if I really like the song originally, but that has probably changed my mind. So the download is worth it for that song alone. And for some reason I've always liked that particular live version of "I Was Born a Unicorn" better than the studio recording. I think it was recorded from a 2003 concert in Montreal and, perhaps what draws me to it more than the album version is the fact that it's a little more on the rough side. Sounds more energetic.

If you haven't gotten the chance to see the Secret Machines live, then do it. They sound great.

it can also be quite embarrassing digging up past mixes - hell, even the earlier ones i posted on this site a few years ago leave me red-faced - you don't look like you have that problem, as most of what's here looks great

I know what Anthony means re 'red-faced' when it comes to early mixes posted, my music taste seems to have changed beyond recognition since I first discovered AotM (same could be said for my bank balance too)I rarely play any of my initial mixes cos they now seem to represent my wife's musical taste more than mine. However, I'd say you have nothing to worry about with this submission.

Going back to teenage music - the more fun the older you get!
