Comment:
The AOTM was well-represented at the Fox last night for the Glitter & Doom tour stop in St. Louis. Brother Funky and http://www.artofthemix.org/aotmcommunity/profile.asp?intMemberID=27382>Brother Doowad met up with The Wad> and Strange Loop enjoyed a varied and top-notch performance from the Man. This is a follow-up to the Greasy Grimy Gutbucket Artists where it was mutually decided that with Sonny Boy, Muddy, John Lee & Wolf in the Gutbucket netherworld, Mr. Waits is the greatest living creator of gutbucket. The mix? Well, the four basically just threw their favorite Waits tunes (or Waits-related tunes) in the proverbial [gut]bucket and this is what rinsed out.Feedback:
my jealousy cannot be accurately described in words, so i'll just grumble quietly to myself. any collection of waits is bound to be terrific, & you've nailed two of my top 5 waits songs ("christmas card..." & "bottom of the world"), so kudos.

I love the way you paired lots of these up, Derek...Alice->Children's Story and Kommienezuspadt thru Cemetery Polka especially. Very few of my absolute favorites were represented at the show itself, but I really couldn't have cared less. It was just fantastic anyways...
As in: "Watch your back sonny. You're in Gutbucket Country now!" Anyway... Quite a sampling here form his exhaustive library, but still merely a drop in the (gut)bucket.Truly a once in a lifetime experience!
i'm off to the knoxville show. is it june 29th yet. YES!
A fine catalog and fine mixes, appropriately enough.
