Comment:

60 minutes; for cale. he was born on the fourth of july, so i made a mix of songs that mention his birthday, a theme that is not so obvious unless you're actually listening to the lyrics. i dig it; i hope he does too.

a friend once said to me "bon jovi hat den rock kaputtgemacht" but what he meant was that bon jovi sucks ass ;-) anyway, lovely mix, especially the 8 to 11 stretch looks great. seriously though, bon jovi? apart from that i listened to chicago for the first time ever about a week ago and i must say i'm much delighted! i also found a chicago poster in one of the vinyl albums and pinned it to the wall, but i don't know if that's of any interest to anybody.

hey j, don't hate. you hadn't heard of chicago until last week, so you can't be the judge...i mean, "livin' on a prayer"? c'mon now! truly, bon jovi does suck, but for all intents and purposes, i kind of like the song on this mix. it was that, or "born on the bayou," which in retrospect may have been the better choice.

i love the neko case, headlights & honorary title songs - "independence day" by elliott smith would have been a nice addition

Just mix it the way you feel like. There's always another artist or tune or version that you might think about later, but a mix represents its own moment in your life.

Well, Bon Jovi has had their moments, and I did like their VH1 Storytellers show (I have the bootleg of it). I'm constantly impressed by your knowledge of what's in the lyrics. I'm a lyrics guy and can appreciate the research or memory (or combination of the 2).
