Comment:

Well, as you can plainly see, I've certainly been making up for lost time! After taking a little hiatus after my epic Johnny saga (MIX #85), I've come up with not one, but two more Pazuzu Pizza Pies. And this one's my second for the day! :-)

I just thought I'd let you know, however, that I'm not going to offer up each and every mix I make for downloading. I made an exception to the rule in the case of MIX #85, simply because I figured it was a special occasion and I wanted to share it with all of you. But I don't actually have a computer of my own (I use my local library's), and making things available for downloading is something that I would normally need my younger brother's help with. And I certainly can't very well lean on my brother and pester him all the time, can I?? However...if one of my mixes catches your eye and you're interested in hearing it, then by all means contact me by e-mail and I'll arrange a means by which I can make it available to you (and free of ch-arge)!

NOTES, THOUGHTS, COMMENTS, EXPLANATIONS OF INTENT, AND ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS UNASKED:
1) Prelude / Prologue / We're Gonna Have A Real Good Time Together: Okay, granted, when it comes to the award for Three Least Likely Bands To Ever O-pen A Mix Disc Together, the o-pening Priest / Renaissance / Velvets trio certainly doesn't steal the crown from the Mudhoney / Moody Blues / Accept kickoff to MIX #86, but I'd be willing to bet that's it's still a conten-der (ha, ha)!
2) Run Through The Light: This Yes number's actually from the short-lived period when Buggles members Trevor Horn (vocals) and Geoff Downes (keyboards) joined the band and made Drama in 1980. A really good, solid record - if not quite up there with vintage Yes - and nowhere near as nutty a combination of talents as was thought at the time!
3) O Lucky Man: A cover tune by Ronnie Montrose's mid-'70s outfit, not of ELP, but of former Animals keyboardist (and Dylan's Don't Look Back co-star!) Alan Price.
4) I Talk To The Wind: And that makes for yet another "elimination" - namely King Crimson's 1969 debut In The Court Of The Crimson King. (Yeah, sure, I used an edited version of Moonchild - without that rather tedious exten-ded improv section - on one of my earlier mixes, but I'm counting it anyway!)
5) Whiplash / Columbia: Methinks that Gallagher Bros. superfan Lars Ulrich would heartily approve! [*wink*]
6) Wings For Marie / 10,000 Days: The epic two-part centerpiece of Tool's 10,000 Days album from 2006, clocking in at 17+ minutes! (What was rather frustrating about the length issue was that I was forced to sacrifice a couple of other conten-ders for Disc #2, including Peter Hammill's Red Shift and Black Sabbath's Solitude. Look out for them on future mixes of mine!)
7) All The Things: Actually this is the longer al-ternate version which I believe is on the remastered version of The Byrds' Untitled, as well as the box set There Is A Season (from which I took the song).
8) Concerto In D (2nd Movement) / Pomp And Circumstance: A pair of stately and beautiful classical arrangements (from Yes' Steve Howe and German metal gods Accept) bring this set to an elegiac yet stirring close.

Steve Howe really shows off his technique on that track. A great player, especially on the acoustic.
