FuTone v 03
Comment:
When folks say "That sounds rather cryptic," is it a disregard for polite talk or a disregard for art? Well, how are y'all doing? Hope things are going well for everyone. Keeping my eye on the World Series of Poker for the last six weeks has helped me crank out something while being anxious about updates out of Las Vegas. Oh - let me tell you a story: Suzanne Verdal is now homeless in Venice Beach, California, USA, where she lives in her automobile. She says she has met Leonard Cohen twice since his/her song's initial popularity;once after a concert Cohen performed in the 1970s and once in passing in the 1990s where Cohen did not speak to her (and possibly did not recognise her). There is a story in this mix, up on a mountain, inside a car. Enjoy.
Feedback:
was just wondering this morning where you'd gone to... while hoping you would resurface soon. welcome back! will comment again after the listen. re: "There is a story in this mix, up on a mountain, inside a car...." that sounds rather cryptic.
[that's a disregard for your comments, by the way.]
Welcome back, indeed!!!!
The master of the seamless transition returns.
A wonderful mix. Great return. Just finished listening. Is that Meat Puppets song meant to sound like Immigrant Song? Anyway, loved 3, 6 & 7 and especially the final three. Great version of Llorando and what a smooth closer. Welcome Back (once again)
Cheers, all, and thanks. Sammy, I don't know if you will get to read this because this site never has made direct on topic replies that easy, BUT Immigrant Song basically ripped off two well known tunes: one is Bali Hai and the other is the reprise of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Yet, ripped off is so harsh. Perhaps it flattered the other two?
always really a pleasure to see a mix from you - this looks pretty damn great, & i've been enjoying that elvis costello album more than i thought i would - hope you stick around for a bit
Six months is way too long to not have one of your fantastic mixes on my stereo. I've followed them all since the old tales website. You never hear much Stan Ridgway outside of your mixes.
Wow, this is a sight for sore eyes? Thanks for this...
Another one for my FuTone folder.I love your multi-genre mixes!
Very cool. I'm looking forward to checking this out.
Futastic as always. Hey, wanna do an alternator?
why do I suddenly have the urge to watch Mulholland Drive? loved the Rebecca Del Rio, Chikezie Ezi, Brazzaville, Les Baxter tunes. My favorite here might be that Stan Ridgeway song - it's really great! hope another jonpoi mix is already in the works.
This looks wonderful. I'm very fond of the Laurie Anderson track, but the whole thing looks fantastic.
