Comment:

The third and final disc in the anthology focuses exclusively on Nick's super-suave soul/country/pop crooning work of the past fourteen years, an approach that suits him far better than I, for one, would ever have imagined. To me, it's genuinely arguable that Nick hasn't made better records than 1998's Dig My Mood, 1994's The Impossible Bird or 2001's The Convincer. Last tracks cut: "True Love Travels on a Gravel Road," "Lover Don't Go," "Only a Fool Breaks His Own Heart," "Poor Side of Town," and "Long Limbed Girl."

He has definitely aged/mellowed well. I do like True Love Travels on a Gravel Road, but really no argument with the choices you made.I guess "Fool Who Knows" is not on Disk 1, either? I do like that Little Village album, in all its supergroup imperfection.

I totally skipped out on this period of Nick. Might be ideal for a download link (hint, hint).

a pretty damn fitting capper to a pretty damn great anthology of a pretty damn amazing artist. i also love his current formation more than i ever thought i could given the ways its style has been massacred in the hands of so many less capable musicians. great stuff, rob.

This whole series is REALLY great! I've been listening to a ton of Nick Lowe lately. I'm hoping there will be a link to this at some point.

Ditto what sport ! said. Would love to have a live link to all this Lowe! Had the pleasure of seeing him live and with Paul Carrack in the band no less.
