So.I turn 49 in a couple of months.At work, a gent of my years or possibly a few more was standing nearby while I was talking tunes with a woman about a decade or two younger than I. Most, if not all, of the bands on this mix were mentioned.He said, "I'm totally lost...who are they?"He will be getting it today, with the advice to play it as loud as he can tolerate.With a grateful nod to Bill aka Bobo T. Clown, my youngest, and his pals, without whom I never would have heard the majority of this music, and of course to the good people that gave us Southland Tales, where I first heard The Killers.I thought it would be best to stay with one disc per group. I felt I had to eliminate Dirty Harry from the Gorrilaz disc, too "rap" for the gent who will be getting the disc.The title?Couldn't come up with one I liked better, and it is rather XY, not a XX band or lead in sight...
