Comment:

A twangy mix for the Rank Believers and Flying Byrds that even Charlie Parker might enjoy. Intentionally tried to avoid more mainstream selections in hopes of adding interest. Been listening and obsessing over the track order. Too much fiddling and worrying and I'll never post anything. Regrets: couldn't figure out how to get WAV files to play well alongside the MP3s, thus much less of The Byrds; couldn't find any of The Dils or Manassas. Next time!

Constructive feedback welcome. This is my first Art of the Mix submission so keep that in mind as you offer opinions, please.

Enjoy!

This looks perfect. Across the River is one of my all-time favorite songs, but you've also got a great load of my kind of genre. Look for my email shortly.

Welcome aboard, and a fine introduction. Coincidentally, just uploaded an Americana mix (two entries behind you), albeit more heavy on the more recent stuff. Got one of my favorite Byrds tracks here, which is always nice to see.
In terms of burning wav's & mp3's: well, the best option is to stick with cd's and avoid the evil mp3's, but I realize I'm an old fogie about that stuff. Next best option is to find a decent program, like Roxio Easy Media Creator, which can incorporate multiple music formats into a playlist and burn it onto an audio cd. (Though I still will get occasional errors, particularly when using flac files, and thus sometimes it's easier just to decompress everything into a wav file before burning.)

Nice debut.... I just started using the Roxio program Pop Kulcher just mentioned and it does the trick. Welcome to the site!

Welcome! What I'm familiar with is great. I share the same paralyzing problem of finalizing track order. There's a free app called RazorLame that will convert WAVs to MP3s, or you can just use iTunes. I use an ancient version of Roxio (5.0!) for burning discs, which works just fine and does conversions on the fly. Much less cumbersome that the current versions, and the label maker app is much easier than their current one.

Thanks to each of you for the kind words and warm welcome. It was a rough day. The positive feedback in your responses was a very pleasant surprise.

I'll definitely take the consensus opinion under advisement and see if there isn't a copy of Easy Media Creator running around.

No worries, Pop K ... I'm a fogey as well. I like my formats as lossless as possible. I rip using EAC to WAV. I am not that up on FLAC. At least not as much as I would like to be. There is always a lot to learn.

In some al...nate universe a part of me wishes a dual turnt...e get up in to cassette never went out of fashion! You can't get those nicely bl...ed cross fades with an MP3.

Again, thanks everyone!

Sorry for all the weird missing letters in words. It's a website protective thang.

I'd love to hear this one. I love the little Gene Clark I've heard.
