Comment:

For the hell of it and over a month in the making. I'm not sure if the quality of the final product justifies the time spent, but it sounds pretty good to my ears. Thanks to Sean for the Waterboys track (which I had on vinyl years ago) and to Marc for the Kirsty MacColl track. The John Hiatt track is dedicated to doowad, as per an e-mail exchange that we had weeks ago (I really detest John Hiatt but dig that song, regardless). The Sic Alps is taken from their new album, US Ez, which is my album of the year (if you haven't heard them, please investigate immediately). Title by Becker/Fagen and taken from the song that's been my in-the-car-with-the-sound-turned-up pick for the past week. (The weird spaces in the titles are there because of the site's rejection of the words in question and I am apparently not allowed to use semicolons or dashes, either.)

Looks great (even though there's a Steely Dan track). I'll bet it was worth all the effort, Rob! =)

Absolutely love Side One ... but I know more of those artists and tunes and there are some good 'uns. As much as I enjoy buglady's posts, I'll have to disagree with her here. You can't beat Steely Dan! And great choice of tracks by Hiatt.

Thanks for the tip of the hat, sir. Besides the aforementioned Hiatt, that three song kickoff to disk 2 really hits it. I'll have to check out the Foals because I definitely like the company they keep.Albert is my favorite King, but Freddie is a close second, but dig the run of songs starting with Mr. Diamond.

All kinds of good stuff all over the place here... especially like the side two first five and the Hiatt song (one of my favorite artist). Also love that Waterboys pick. I was just listening to that album last week... a classic.

Whoa, man. Well, pretty much everything that Anthony said applies to me, as well. Astounding piece of work, my frien d. Aaaaand, I've officially heard enough good things re:Sic Alps that they're on my short list of stuff to pick up very soon. (James Jackson Toth's full length trumps it, but you knew that).
