Every August 15th, I go to Nagasaki for Shoronagashi. It's an Obon holiday, kind of a Japanese Day of the Dead that lasts for three days. It's a lotta fireworks, lemme tell ya. Noise to chase away the bad spirits as the departed make the way back after their yearly visit. It's my favorite day of the year: beaches, bars, streets full of firecracker sanity and my annual firedance to finish it off. PLAY THIS LOUD.

that Cibo Matto is an old favorite, and I liked the Camera Obscura and 10cc tracks here too. Shoronagashi sounds like a lot of fun! but how can you be sure their fireworks weren't just a clever trick of the eye, cre-ated by a team of genius animators?
