Comment:

Being a sad chronicle of a band jumping the shark.Like the addition of Michael McDonald to The Doobie Brothers, or the attempt of The Who to carry on after the loss of Keith Moon, Genesis, noted for PG at the mic weaving snippets of stories from nothing at all while the band noodled about and creating genius live shows to the PG exit and the demise of a grand prog band into The Phil Collins Back Up Band...Pals n buds were major fans, I came in at ...and then there were three, and saw that tour, which later became Seconds Out... the last hurrah, as it were. And, yes, Rob, I knew the chronology, but...I just didn't care...Duchess is a snarky thing really, if you look to the lyrics and see it at the e(n)d of the mix...

Nice. This is really a good summation of a lot of their best stuff. (You're aware, right, that Trespass precedes Foxtrot?)

I'm actually in agreement with Rob Conroy on this one (yikes!). This is a fairly good summation of their best Gabriel-era material.

Granted, I'm not as big a fan of Genesis as I am of other '70s English prog outfits such as Yes, King Crimson and Van Der Graaf Generator, but I still think this is pretty good.
