Comment:

For the record, I think that out of all my mixes, this one holds the record for the greatest number of individual tracks on any one mix. (22 + 24 = 46, baby! :-))

Well, the other big thing here that I'm the most proud of is...well, practically the entire second half of Disc #1 (from, let's say, Blew all the way through Doll Parts)! That sequence is something that's been brewing in my head for over a month now and I'm glad I've finally managed to lay it down on disc. It was just a question of my waiting until I could purchase copies of the first Danzig (1988), the first Rage Against The Machine (1992), Stone Temple Pilots' Core (1992) and Hole's Live Through This (1994)! (Although I've had the Rage and STP albums on cassette for ages now.)

Plus, I also picked up David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust (1972), Smashing Pumpkins' Gish (1991) and Queens Of The Stone Age's Rated R (2000). QOTSA is represented here, while you can find Bowie and the Pumpkins on my next couple of future mixes!
NOTES, THOUGHTS, COMMENTS, EXPLANATIONS, ETC.:
1) In The Be-ginning < Lovely To See You / The Dream / Have You Heard (Parts 1 & 2) / The Voyage - True, we've got multiple tracks from the magnificent Moodies here, in defiance of my usual "no 2+ tracks" policy, but they're segued together and form a sequence. Plus, the On The Threshold Of A Dream album (1969) be-gins and en-ds with this eerie electronic droning sound, which I thought I could use to be-gin and en-d this particular mix!
2) Speak To Me < Breathe < On The Run - Ditto the Pink Floyd sequence! (See my explanation for the Moody Blues tracks.)
3) Love Revolution < Your Body Not Your Soul < Monsters In The Parasol - All three songs have a great pounding uptempo beat to them and I thought they would flow quite naturally together!
4) Leaders Of Men < Of Walking Abortion < Kil-ling In The Name < Mother < Sex Type Thing < Doll Parts - Sheesh! Collectively, all those song titles put together manage to convey a rather disturbing and unsettling impression, don't you think?? Also, the sequence first started to coalesce in my mind when I hit upon the notion of putting the Joy Division and Manics tracks back to back, because they've both got certain lyrical similarities.
5) The Wicked Messenger < Baby Your Phrasing Is Bad < Interference Patterns - And the moral of the story, boys and girls, is simply this: If you cannot bring meaningful news that doesn't strain one's ears, don't bring any! (Ha, ha, ha!)
6) Cum On Feel The Noize - No disrespect to Quiet Riot fans (may Kevin DuBrow rest in peace), but you just simply cannot top the classic Slade original! (And it actually rocks harder, as well.)
7) Slow Jam - Rockin' it Manchester-style, with veterans Barney, Hooky and Steve managing to beat that young whippersnapper Noel Gallagher at his own game!
