Comment:
Well, not to sound too immodest or anything (Heaven forbid), but I'd have to say that reaching the 100-disc mark is definitely some kind of milestone! Don't all congratulate me at once, though... (heh, heh, heh!) :-)NOTES, THOUGHTS, COMMENTS, EXPLANATIONS, ETC.:
1) Tora! Tora! < Loss Of Control < Brain Stew < Jaded - A pair of double-shots from Van Halen and Green Day! Yes, it's two tracks apiece, but once again, both pairs are segued together into a seamless whole.
2) Some Other Time - *SIGH* Quite simply put, a gap-filler to keep the running time from falling under my preferred 78-minute mark! Not that I dislike the song, you understand. But it's just that it's not exactly my favorite X song. (For the record, I'm holding the equally brief Sex And Dying In High Society in reserve for a future emergency!)
3) Cicatriz ESP < Fire < Where The River Goes - I thought this would be a good closing sequence for Disc #1. I've always loved that STP song for its heavy, steady, rolling vibe. (It's the closer for their first disc, Core.) And is it just me, or do the lyrics for Mindfunk's Fire sound like they were inspired by the 1980 Ken Russell sci-fi mindben-der Al-tered States (from the novel by Paddy Chayefsky)?
4) I Remember You < Winterlovers < World's Greatest Lover - I dunno, I thought that this would be kind of a nice sequence to go out on...
(Not to sound too desperate or anything, but I've noticed that comments on my mixes have been rather few and far between! I just haven't been getting that much feedback for my efforts lately. I can only imagine that perhaps this has something to do with the current difficulties with AOTM keeping people away who would otherwise be inclined to respond...or maybe people have gotten just plain sick and tired of me...but in any case it's gotten kind of lonely around here!
:-( :-( :-(
Hello! Is there anybody out there...?)
Feedback:
Congrats on 100 mixes. . . .
Congratulations on 100! Loving Rush, Motorhead and Soundgarden, but my fravorite here is "Arnold Layne".
I love to see these Anniversary tributes to the AotM community.Oh, it is just another Pazuzu mix. As usual, I like the Limey Glam portions and any 60s bits, but sometimes it is nice to give back as well, Darth.
Thanks, guys! :-)
100. Phew.
As a challenge how about your next mix featuring bands you've never put on a mix before.

KathrynandRupert:
Regarding your comment below...the only way I could ever use bands I've never used before would be for me to go out and buy a whole stack of new CD's. And I don't exactly have enough disposable income to do that. I pretty much have to wait for payday the same as everybody else (everybody else without their own computer, that is). For that matter, there's no real guarantee that I won't want to purchase something else besides new CD's!
Throughout my entire (so far) 100-mix run on AOTM, I've pretty much covered almost every single artist that's in my collection, believe it or not. If you go back and look over several of my more recent mixes, you'll see quite a few artists that weren't in my first couple (Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Danzig, many others). My collection will inevitably grow and expand, but here's the thing: It'll grow and expand at its own pace.
And once again...I'm getting rather exasperated having to bring this up all the time, but I'll say it yet again: (To my knowledge,) I have never used the same song by the same artist twice throughout all 100 of my mixes. And on each of my individual mixes, I usually never use two songs by the same artist - that is, unless it's a series of tracks that are segued into a greater whole.
And you could also give me credit for consistency, if nothing else. You can look at any one of my mixes, and any one of them could serve as a representative example of my mixing work. You'll certainly en-d up with a very good idea as to how I'm wired in terms of my own tastes. And if perhaps you think my tastes aren't broad enough, well...I honestly don't know what to tell you. I am what I am. To thine own self be true, y'know!
I thank you for your well-meaning recommen-dation, but like I said, I'll grow and evolve at my own pace, not anyone else's. Like I said, I don't really have the disposable income to make any kind of astounding quantum leaps beyond that.
Anyway, I'm sorry if I come across as perhaps a bit cranky about the issue. Perhaps if you've got any specific recommen-dations for me as to what I could include that I may not have used before, you can let me know. I'm all ears...

Uhhh...my thoughts exactly! I think...
Wait, don't tell me! It's...somebody's birthday, right?? :-)
Darth Pazuzu! I hereby offer my congratulations on mix #100. cool to see old Queen, old Leppard, old Bowie, old Van Halen, old New York Dolls and (old) Joy Division on here. by the way, of course K & R didn't mean any harm... do you have a record player? if so, you can add lots of new groups/artists to your collection for just a few bucks by going to the used record store or even to a few thrift stores. you can find some pretty cool stuff that way. but to thine own self be true, indeed. looking forward to the next 100 mixes.
Should I take that as some kind of petty swipe?
