Comment:

A favorite song on this mix is track 15, which barely made it onto the top Pop 100 ch_art list and wasn't included on the R&B list. A cover of the song by Grand Funk Railroad did make it on the R&B list at #85 in 1975 (which was then a #3 hit on the Pop ch_arts). The mix is 63m51s in length. The picture is of The Marvelettes which dominated this mix with three tunes.

The Marvelettes were truly marvelous, inspiring The Beatles, who covered their "Mr. Postman", and surviving numerous lineup changes. Your photo shows them as a trio, which they were from 1965 on, after their initial years as a quartet and a quintet. Obviously, they were Funky, but chic (as the New York Dolls say). Thanks for another great series to follow your B series. What key is next? Waiting with bated breath . . .

Wow, Joe ... this latest trio of funk-key mixes is fantastic in how it drifts between decades and includes the familiar and fringe hits.
