Comment:

Note to KathrynandRupert:
Talking Heads...Blondie...Violent Femmes. Three - count 'em, three - bands whom I've never, ever put on a mix before! Hope you're happy... :-)

And two more "eliminations"!:
The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers (1971)
Van Halen - Van Halen (I) (1978)

Well...in my (not-so) humble opinion, let me just say that I think Disc #2 turned out just a tad better than Disc #1. When I started this particular mix, I didn't really have much of a game plan. I had a whole list in my head of possible songs that I wanted to include, but absolutely no sense whatsoever of how to order them! All things considered, I think Disc #1 turned out rather well. However, Disc #2 is where I felt I eventually hit my groove, and where everything fit together just right!

I honestly can't explain how these things work with me, but sometimes you find yourself in "The Zone" right away, and at others it takes a while to find it. I'd wager that it's like that for quite a few of my fellow mixers out there on AOTM! :-) And usually, I give myself enough time to work out the track order in advance, and calculate the running times of all the songs so that they fit within the 80-minute running time, etc., but with MIX #102 I was kind of winging it!

Well, this time I have no actual comments to make regarding specific songs or sequences (because like I said there really wasn't that much thought put into it this time), so that pretty much wraps it up as far as my comments are concerned. However...I do have something of an ax to grind with a fellow AOTM poster who del-eted not one but two comments I made from one of his (or her) mixes, and you can read that in the comment section below. Well, until next time, this is Darth Pazuzu, your frien-dly-neighborhood egomaniac, signing off! :-)
