Well, Disc #1 is something I've put a lot of effort and thought into for quite some time, so I think it's probably the better half of this collection. Disc #2 isn't bad, but it's one of my more half-improvised, spur-of-the-moment "impromptu" jobs. As such, it holds together okay, I suppose... :-)
And as promised...MIX #104 marks the Pazuzu debuts of Devo and Elvis Presley, as well as Canadian metal gods Voivod (with ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted)!
Devo Corporate Anthem < Stealing Fat < The Getaway - I suppose I needn't belabor any potential thematic connective thread between the first two instrumental numbers in this particular sequence! I will only say that Voivod's The Getaway (the kickoff track to the group's last album, released posthumously after the death of guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour) definitely maintains the momentum of Fight Club main title theme Stealing Fat!
Hang On To Yourself < I Don't Wanna Go Down To The Basement - Trivia time! Anybody wanna take a guess what the connection between these two songs is??
