Great history, or should I say Who-story. A lot of these were their career highlights, and have good memories for me.

Out in the Street and Pictures of Lily are my favorites here.

the who sell out is one of my 30 or so all-time favorite albums, which is well represented, & my favorite songs are all here ("i can't explain," "i can see for miles," "the kids are alright," "sunrise," "tattoo," & "pictures of lily") - so i've no complaints - great summation, as usual - you going to be posting that mountain goats comp anytime soon?

The who? another education for me, since I only have the Quadr-o-phenia soundtrack. I've got lots to learn.

Always was a big early Who fan... well, actually up to Who's Next. A little spotty after that but with great moments. And they're all captured here in this 3 volume set. Nice one.

These days the Who represent paedophilia rather than Quadr-o-phenia, so I can't listen to em any more.

Quite nice. A fair amount of overlap with my own 4-cd version [see here, here, here, and here] [note, AOTM viruses may exist]. I'm a little more partial to Quadr*phenia, my favorite Who album (though Who's Next and Sell Out are close seconds), and I managed to find some space for a few key tracks from their post-By Numbers albums, which, admittedly, largely suck. They remain one of my favorite bands 30 years after I first fell in love with them, and I largely credit Who's Next for op*ning my eyes to the wonders of rock & roll outside the confines of mid-70s Top 40 am radio.

And, by the way, I'm going to assume that Cliff is kidding. Whatever Pete's personal issues may be, art is art. Though I might draw the line at listening to music by artists who, say, support the McCain/Palin ticket.

Art is certainly not art in this instance Marc, I loathe Pete the Purve with a vengeance.

The last I checked, Cliff, those cha rges were dro pped. Are you telling me that you have additional information?

Just cos the cha rges were dro pped doesn't mean to say the bastard is innocent Rob, he's as guilty as sin!

Whatever, Cliff. A bit reactionary of you, for sure, but you're entitled to your opinion.

Never a huge fan of the Who, but I def. dig some of there early work.
As for the band: I guess there are loads of reasons to not like a band but to not like it based on information that has nothing to do with music doesn't seem right to me, with all due respect Cliff. Ric hard Wagner was anti-semetic but his music is beautiful. You've got to seperate the art from the artist.
