Comment:
So I made this mix for myself last night, ostensibly to include the Joan of Arc and Walker Brothers songs (as I'm trading the CDs that each are on) and to include the Blondie song, which I borrowed from a friend of mine (owning a Blondie disc won't be happening anytime soon). I think it's one of my more interesting variety mixes. I challenge you mixers to tell me which two songwriters are featured twice on this mix; although the one is obvious, the other is a bit harder to detect. The title is from the Velocity Girl song.Feedback:
S Merritt is the brain behind Magnetic Fields & The 6ths. I don't know the answer to #2. Very nicely varied mix BTW.
Thanks, lo-fi. You named the first songwriter correctly... :-)
i think you stumped us, but isn't someone from of montreal in the sixth great lake.... it's that damn elephant 6 family tree isn't it! damn!
I know that the Sixth Great Lake and Of Montreal do not share any full-time members, although I'm sure someone has played on the other's records... but, at any rate, it's not the E6 connection. Here's a hint: the Lou Barlow song is a cover.
isn't that a joni mitchell song originally?
Yes, Lux. It is. A fine job. :-D
ohhh, tommy roe. and other favorites. i think i'm in love with this mix.
of montreal then YMG, that's a little piece of heaven.
