Comment:

I have had a lot of fun over the past few months since the inception of the Mutual Appreciation Society. However, a couple of them have not exactly panned out, they seemed to have withered on the vine or whatever clichT you prefer. In any case, since I had these lists hanging around, I decided to see if I could merge them and make something out of nothing. I was going to leave this in the alt-dj category (nixed however due to the new protections here) because by melding different concepts together, I basically was, to paraphrase the immortal words of Billy Idol, mixing with myself.

Sometimes it's easiest just to play with onesef. oops, I mean mix with oneself. I like The closing Beach Boys track quite a lot. Just finished listening to the latest Brian Wilson album where you can hear him actually letting some of that ego go.

You're gonna go blind, brother. Not sure how many partial mixes you combined to make the above, but I quite like the results. Really like the Spacemen 3, Dolls, and Magnetic Fields, to name a few, but I think my favorite is the 4-5 pair.

I do so love the title. And the Crumb art. As for the mix? Well, it's a lot of the people I generally really like, so I'll let you draw your own conclusions.

ps - "rub me raw" indeed...!

i am overwhelmed at the sexual overtones in these comments. ohh you aotm'ers! i am glad i revived our alt dj before it was confined to the self-mixing pile... not that that would have been a bad thing, as there's some good stuff on here.

Ha! Great idea to rescue the partly-done projects. And from the ashes shall arise... a truly fine mix.

I've never known it being referred to as an ego before. Rub me raw? Jesus!
This looks tip-top, Derek. Possibly my favourite (English Language) mix of yours..

You're never alone with a mixophrenic. D., everything you do is worth 2 mixers, at least.

Sorry if my five mixes caused you any trouble. I won't be at home for awhile to upload.

In other news, I really like the general music flow of this.
