Comment:

My re-tooling of my old "best of vocal Eno" mix from six and a half years ago, done using the relatively recent remasters. One of these days I promise to finish my multi-volume instrumental/ambient Eno mix. Last tracks cut: "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," "King's Lead Hat," and "Here Come the Warm Jets."

Eno is a guy that I like, but never taken the time to get to know much about. I'll have to rectify that.

Always love "Baby's ON Fire" ... this is probably up to par with all of your work!

I wouldn't say I'm completely ignorant of Eno, but I definitely need to expand my familiarity. This looks to be the perfect place to start.

Taking Tiger Mountain is the song I'm most familiar with. Eno's work with Harold Budd holds the most appeal for me, but the greatest hits format seems like a good way to get more into his solo works.

One of my favorite artists, and those four vocal albums from the mid-70s are among the finest recordings I own. Another Green World is easily one of my 10 favorite albums ever, and "St. Elmo's Fire" is a spellbinding track. When it came time to make my own Eno mixes, I opted to split things into a rock mix and a quiet mix (plus a third volume of assorted Eno covers, collaborations, and production work). You've got a good chunk of my rock mix here, but I find it kind of jarring to go from, say, "Third Uncle" to "Everything Merges With The Night" at a single sitting. Of the quiet stuff, while "Julie With..." is among the best, "Spider & I" from the same album is probably my favorite of his mellow vocal tracks, and something I still play at night when I need help getting to sleep.

Mother Whale Eyeless is my favourite here, I've been meaning to use that one a mix of mine for a bit. This whole thing is great..

Ah man, I really love "Here Come the Warm Jets"... but I really can't complain about your picks on this mix.
