Comment:

Today's eliminations are:
86. Soundgarden - Screaming Life/Fopp [EP compilation] (1987-88) (#128 - 11/3/08)
87. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (1975) (#128 - 11/3/08)

(Two points of clarification: I've used up everything on the Sub Pop compilation of Soundgarden's first two EP's...except for their dub mix of their cover of the Ohio Players' Fopp, the main version of which I've already used. So as far as I'm concerned, it's an elimination! As far as Wish You Were Here is concerned, I used the edit of Shine On You Crazy Diamond from the Echoes compilation on a previous mix instead of the entire thing - but I don't really think all those lengthy instrumental passages will be missed...)

Locket Love - Once again, I'm using a really short punk-rock song as a spacefiller to pad out the CD-R's running time, but this time I'm a little happier with the results! True, the Ramones probably make for the most unlikely bridge between ABWH and Renaissance, but I think it works like a ch-arm.

Blood Red Skies < Sign Of The Cross < Broken, Beat And Scarred < Moto Psycho - Once again I'm bringing down a whopping dose of the Heavy Metal Thundah!! (TM) :-)

I Wanna Be Your Dog < I'm Waiting For The Man < Incubation - A very natural grouping of songs, if I do say so myself - and perhaps long overdue! The Joy Division instrumental track Incubation does a nice job of maintaining the chugging momentum of the Stooges and Velvets songs, while simultaneously serving as a kind of prelude to...

Jack Action < Mandatory Suicide - I personally think that Slayer and W.A.S.P. together make for one hell of a one-two punch. Not long ago, I paired up The Antichrist and Show No Mercy, so I thought I'd try it again. Only this time, I reversed the band order!

Master/Slave - For those of you out there who don't know, this is the "hidden track" which appears at the very en-d of Pearl Jam's Ten, at approximately the 5:20 mark of the final song Release.
