Beautiful Groove
Comment:
This mix was conceived after seeing the movie "Beautiful Girls," which was much better than the storyline sounded. The title track from Pete Droge & The Sinners stuck with me for a long time. It has such a groove to it as does the movie. The rest of the mix collects other songs from movies that fall into the same category as "Beautiful Girls," i.e. simple but meaningful portrayals of life, relationships, idealism and disappointments. The mix was actually made eight years ago but up_dated recently with an improved track sequencing.
The Quiz concerns the Rosie O'Donnell ch_aracter, who delivers a wickedly funny monologue in a drug store to her gal pals. What is the main topic of this monologue? Correct answer gains a free copy, tracked and with artwork.
Feedback:
This looks a lot like the Hope Floats soundtrack, a film I underestimated as well.
Nothing against the HF soundtrack either, I also underestimated it. But I never underestimate a Bang! release.
Was it Rosie's rant on plastic centerfold girls? (Nice work here, by the way!)
Steve Raglin has the right answer. Good job.
Like the Knitters and Smithereens especially here, and yeah, Beautiful Girls is a surprisingly good movie. Nice work!
Brooks is on my list of enemies (yes of course I have one) Ope-ning 3 do it for me though.
Well balanced mix, with the Knitters' track the stand out for me.
Tis a grand mix indeed that makes me want to track a film I've not seen...
A beautiful groove indeed.
I wore out my record of the QMS playing "Who Do You Love."
oh yeah
You do know & love your movies, so this is quite fitting.
Woo-hoo! It made my day to find my free copy of your mix in my mail box. Thanks...... the AOTM community is lucky to have your solid contributions!
