The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences wasn't kidding about the "new" part when it awarded LeAnn Rimes the GRAMMY® for Best New Artist in 1996; she was all of 14. The other GRAMMY® she won that year was for the title track to her debut album, [i]Blue[/i]. She also does a handsome version of Debby Boone's massive smash "You Light Up My Life" — a decision certainly not influenced by her record company's president also being the song's publisher.
