Oh Sam, each year I look forward to your Ond-of-year tributes to those who have left this earth. Especially sad to see Ms. Eartha Kitt take her leave... but there are several here who have brought me much joy over the years. [I didn't know Levert vocalist had died. I like Levert!] One other favorite singer/actress who passed away in 2008 is Edie Adams. All the best to you for the New Year, pal... and looking forward to your mixes of 2009!

Sad to see that jazz great Freddie Hubbard just made the cut. Great tribute as always.
Not that the mix needs anything, but I'd like to mention Danny Federici from Springsteen's band, Martin Fiero from the under-appreciated band Mother Earth, Buddy Miles who played with He_ndrix in Band of Gypsies and in the absolutely fantastic band Electric Flag, and organist Jimmy McGriff.
