Yes, there are some long, rambling comments to this... which I put in the blog rather than cut & paste across multiple comment blocks. See it at http://popkulcher.blogspot.com/2009/01/guilty-pleasures-mix.html if you're interested.

I'd feel guilty about what those guys in the photo are wearing. Aside from that, Gin Blossoms is a great band and that's one of their best songs (and best known, too). Katrina & the Waves and ELO are other hits to me.

Nothing to be ashamed of here. I really enjoyed reading your notes (defense?) from your blog and I'll happily claim 1, 5, 9, 10, 15-19. Nice timeline of picks, as well.

I admit to loving many of these songs (most notably 3, 6, 10, 19 and 20) and really, really liking a large number of the rest. (I also admit to hating a couple of them, and I feel quite guilty about THAT.)

Nothing to feel guilty about here! The times were what they were, and sometimes we miss that innocence. Boy bands will be boy bands, not matter where or when. Pop till you d rop!

ooooh, the guilty pleasures mix is back! my faves are 1, 7, 10, 16, 18 and 21... I had the clip from the Rentals song on a vhs tape, back from the time when I was young and foolish, VH1 was a MUSIC channel, and I had sooooooo many guilty pleasures... see, I can recall taping a Cake music clip just after Radiohead's Paranoid Android... :(

Is the Sweet cut the elpee, longer cut? Not that it matters... Holy CRAP, people have been putting up the most incredible mixes lately, and apparently you and I are guilty of the same damned things... Like, 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 17. At one time, I had all three elpees by The Dream Academy, have only replaced the first and third (probably won't bother with Rememberance Days).
