Comment:
This is my mix to document the best and biggest heavy metal bands from the 70s and 80s. My other aim was to answer a question: What did metalheads from these eras listen to? This is my best estimation. Don't get me wrong though: these bands I listen to often. I love Maiden and Priest and Sabbath and everyone else on here. "Born To Be Wild" is such a rockin' song and says "heavy metal thunder" of course in the lyrics. This mix would feel incomplete without it.
Feedback:
Back then, it was cool to listen to metal AND other genres. Now everything is too compartmentalized. But metal is strong, and still rocks around the world. Well considered mix.
I can't deny liking quite a few of these. Extra kudos for track 17 too.
