Rhythm & Blues from 1947-1949, Part 2
Comment:
This and the last part of this mix were aided by the mixmeister program. With it I roughly sorted songs by their beats per minute. This part is a bit slower/mellower than the first part. This part also contains a track (#13) that was actually issued in 1946 (it was confused with "Dripper's Blues" by the same artist that peaked in 1948). Again, this mix is dedicated to Rockin' Jim, who was born in 1947. Unfortunately his program rarely plays anything from this period. The R&B he plays these days is usually in the late '50s to late '60s (and he sometimes gets into the early '50s). He says there just isn't enough public interest in this earlier stuff, but he of course still appreciates it (as do I and I hope you all).Feedback:
Here are the rest of the tracks to this part of the mix:18. Memphis Slim And His House Rockers - Frisco Bay (1949 #11)19. Pee Wee Crayton & His Guitar - I Love You So (1949 #6)20. Jimmy Witherspoon - Ain't Nobody's Business (Parts 1 & 2) (1949 #1)21. Louis Jordan And His Tympany Five - I Like 'Em Fat Like That (1947 #5)22. What would we do without you, Joe, and your magical blasts from the past? Outstanding!
Another big wow, kudos for plenty of Louis Jordan.
