Comment:

A frie nd asked me last month what music I was into. I'm used to people responding to my answer to that question with blank stares so I mumbled a couple of bands and mentioned he probably wouldn't have heard of them. He then said "have you heard of (Band Name)" and I hadn't. That's the first time that's happened to me.

This is a response to that same question asked by another frie nd last week. A 2 part, 48 track collection of my favourite songs, the ones that I could listen to for hours and would always sing along to.

The Jyrojets are a band from Inverness, Scotland and that song alone is worth checking them out for if you ever get the chance.

Title is from the Camera Obscura song. Part 2 to follow.

If someone ever asked me, I doubt if it would make a mix as it would be all over the map. This does look mighty fine in an indie rock way.

Yum! Much of the best in indie pop. Truly more people should be made aware of these sparkling talents. Who wouldn't be won over by "French Navy", "Girl About Town", "Ain't Never Been Cool", "Smoke Detector" (despite the tawdry lyrics), "Pot Kettle Black" or anything Tilly, "Carpetbaggers", "Holland, 1945", "Chick Habit"...you should use this as a primer mix to hand out to those people who respond with blank stares. Your taste is delightful :)

This looks all kinds of lovely, I think French Navy must be the greatest song put out yet this year. I love all the songs I know and want to hear the ones I don't. The fact that there is a song called "Edward is Dedward" is kind of hilarious, as well.
