Comment:

So... this is (in my ever-so-humble opinion) the best 80 minutes of R.E.M. that I can think of. If I changed anything, I'd probably remove "Fall on Me" in favor of something else... but maybe not.

i'm just tickled to see stuff from 'monster' on here, because i really like it. tounge is super swell... a really underated song... i probably would have added 'life and how to live it', 'leave', and maybe a song or two off of 'reveal'... but i mean, your mix is flawless and beautifull. no complaints.

You know, I'm not really a fan of Monster... but I LOVE "Tongue" and am very fond of "Currencies." As far as Reveal goes... well, I haven't listened to it enough yet. It hasn't really hit me. Thanks for all of the compliments, though.

as far as the mix goes the only song I think I might add would be "leave" which is my all-time favorite REM song, GREAT mix though..I don't mind not having Reveal stuff on here yet, I mean I usually find myself turning past the new single thinking it is a commercial..

interesting that the two songs from Monster are the two that don't really sound like any of the others. Monster's almost my fave REM album. Oh, and you can't get rid of Fall On Me, it's the highlight of the tape

Oh yeah, in response to all of the "Leave" comments... well, I would have loved to have had it on this mix, but its 7-minute length made it tough to fit (it's hard to justify putting a tune of that length on when two other great songs can fit there). It is, however, on Volume Two. :-)

Great! Although you're lacking songs from Green. "You are the Everything" and "Turn You Inside-Out" would fit nicely.

Have you ever heard the leave remix from A Life Less Ordinary soundtrack? Very Nice.

Ahh... well, I loathe "Turn You Inside-Out" and I placed "You Are the Everything" on volume two. I'm a huge enemy of the Green record.

Excellent mix, but how come there isn't more from Up? I thought that was a great album. "Daysleeper" and "Sad Professor" are two of my favorite R.E.M. songs.Good move with "Strange Currencies" though.

Re: Up... I LOVE the two songs that you mentioned. They were on the original list for the mix... then wound up getting bumped to Vol. 2... then wound up getting bumped entirely. I was sad to see them, go, though.

"Begin The Begin", "Perfect Circle", "Wendell Gee" and the live version of VU's "After Hours" need to be on Vol. II.

Well... "Perfect Circle" IS on Vol. II. "Wendell Gee" was in consideration, but unfortunately did not make the cut. Sadly, I've never heard their version of "After Hours", although I love the tune. And, sorry Bob, but I can't stand "Begin the Begin"...

Flowers of Guatemala is a pleasant surprise. I often forget that song exists, really, but whenever I hear it, I swoon.

"Flowers" is one of my five or so favorite R.E.M. songs. I'm glad that someone else actually likes it... heh.
