Comment:

K'BAM! is the collective name my partner, our 2 daughters and I go by. We hosted an Australia Day / Invasion Day BBQ in 2009. We gave out gift bags full of Aussie paraphernalia, including a copy of this CD. Full of Aussie classics, but with a major political twist, to acknowledge and celebrate Australia's indigenous peoples.

oi, where's the accadacca maaaaate? oh yeah..."jailbreak". actually yothu yindi's version is even better than bon scott's (somehow). a true oz classic. some great selections here, b-dog. believe it or not i was actually singing "indian-pacific" to some friends last night. it's not a regular habit of mine to break out into slim dusty, but the drinks were flowing and melbourne victory had just played their first half-decent match for the season. CAR-LOS HER-NAN-DEZ!!!

oh and if you're doing it again next year, please include chad morgan's "sheik of scrubby creek". that song deserves to be on every oz day mixtape. in fact i might go and put it on my next mix...

Yeah, I think Yothu Yindi's version not only rocks HARDER (than AC/DC? Yes!), but with the inclusion of indigenous instruments and a few minor lyric changes, it becomes a much more powerful statement... P.S. Chad will definitely make the cut in 2010.
