Comment:

May '01: A fine effort - crosses genres quite broadly, or at least as much as it can while remaining within my fairly narrow tastes. When I finished this, I noticed how unbelievably depressing this is. Look at all the depressing messages here: "Thick As Thieves" (you can't count on friends), "Across The Sea," "Answering Machine" (true love is unattainable), "Blank Generation," "Career Opportunities" (you'll never get anywhere), "Auf Wiedersehn," "Six Feet Under" (we're all gonna die), "Shitloads of Money," "Girls Talk" (everyone's full of shit), "Beat It" (you're gonna get your ass kicked), "Charles Giteau" (stand by your principles, you get hanged). I guess these mixes really do reflect real life -- somebody kill me now.
