Comment:

60 minutes; for thaine. there are so many different ways i can go with a literary-themed mix. seeing as this one in particular is for my graduate school professor and the chair of our university's english department, and also considering that i have the most literary of crushes on him (isn't that what you're supposed to do in grad school?!), i decided to make this consist only of songs that mention writers by name (and not references to their works or greater themes or periods, even though some of the songs contain those as well), and paid special attention to modernist and romantic writers - which he seems to favour over, say, transcendentalists - as well as some theorists we studied last semester.

i like the owen track as an opener. it one of those tracks that kinda sneak up on you... it sets a good tone for a very nice mix.
