Comment:

This part of an ongoing b-side collection mix series I'm doing for my blog. The Weakerthans don't have a lot of recorded material outside their main four LPs and the bulk of their b-sides consist of alternate versions of songs found on those LPs. BUT, these alternate versions are essential as they can be drastically different in arrangement compared to the LP versions and you get to peer inside the band's creative process.Tracks 10 and 11 aren't Weakerthans songs but songs from a project John made with his wife Christine Fellows called "This Old House". The album was made as a gift just
for family and friends, and isn't available retail. However, John & Christine allowed CBC Radio to play those two songs. "Taps Reversed" sounds like a Christine Fellows song, while "Good Salvage" sounds more like a Weakerthans tune.
