Comment:
Snoop Dogg is one of the most well-known artists in Hip Hop music today , the man has had dolls, shoes, even a custom car. He is a brand. He occasionally releases a good song or two but in this humble authors opinion hasn't released anything of note in awhile. In the early 90's however that wasn't the case at all, as it seemed like every song Doggy Dogg dropped was great. Snoop's Doggystyle was one of the best Hip Hop releases from the 90's you are likely ever going to hear. Snoop's laid back drawl at it's most animated and his lyrics as hungry and vicious as they were ever going to be, and Dr. Dre's production is still a mesmerizing thing to behold. I decided to compile a mix of Snoop's material that was recorded from that period of '92 to '94 most of which are outtakes from the Doggystyle sessions so Dr. Dre's production is front and center as well. Also included are two short songs that Snoop did with Warren G producing for a St. Ides Malt Liquor promo tape.I hope someone likes this, I have another mix planned for his Doggfather album.
