Remember 1980 when The Jam hit no.1 spot in the UK. Or even UB40's "Food for thought" reached a UK # 4, without a major distributor behind them.
Many of them songs still sound fresh to me. So like to compare the years in a series starting with 1980.
Nowaydays songs I like do not enter even the charts. Which does not say anything about the music, but on the business.
