Comment:
This mix is my first for the ubercool girl who calls herself Lux Lisbon. It features several of my hardy perennials and some unique curveballs. I think I'm pretty happy with it and I hope she is when she gets it. The title is from the Built to Spill song.Feedback:
Holy shit -- Ryan Adams, Neutral Milk Hotel, Songs:Ohia, the Jam, Teenage Fanclub...Rob, will you marry me? ;)
Depends upon a couple of factors... First, I need to know: Lennon or McCartney? Second, a list of your record collection must be in order. Third, I require a minimum of one chat before accepting a marriage proposal. ;-) Other than that, I'll think about it.
No way -- Lennon or McCartney? That's a trick question. I'm going to say George Harrison just to be difficult. ;) As for a listing of the record collection, that would take much too long and I lack the patience, unfortunately. A chat I can happily do as long as there's no more Lennon or McCartney questions. Heh.
Tasty.
Hmm... George... a.k.a "The Quiet One"... an admirably tenacious choice, although I'd never back you up on it, Ms. "Difficult". :-P On a more serious note, drop me a line sometime, particularly if you'd like to trade or discuss the logistics of our new life together. ;-)
quite the wonderful mix. and it will hopefully fill up part of the void of my own record collection. i don't have mr. visa backing up my collection, do however frequenly filch records from my friends which will give the illusion of a slightly more complete collection. but, sigh. thank you.
Ahhhhh. Amy by Ryan, Sublime.
Rob, I think we may be having an email problem on our way to marital bliss -- I've sent two, have you gotten either? I've gotten yours, but from the sound of your second email it would seem you never got my reply, so I want to make double-sure that you know I'm not just snubbing you because you wouldn't back me up on George Harrison. Drop me an email if you get this, and we'll try to sort out why Hotmail is such a bastard.
Love to see Sparky's Dream on a mix. Great mix.
what is it about your mixes that makes us swoon? you wouldn't happen to have a younger brother much like yourself, say 19 or 20?
:-) No, but I'm only 30... And trust me, if I knew the secret, I'd bottle it. Thanks for all of your feedback, Pam (and everyone else from before).
Wow! I can't believe I didn't comment on this one. Another brilliant mix, Rob. Add it to the list, please.
All I know about "To Sing for You" is that it's what he plays to Dylan during Don't Look Back, and then Bob takes the guitar and plays "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue". That moment is priceless. Looking at some of these mixes of yours I often end up wearing the same "why do I bother" face as Donovan, I must say. Excellent job again. And props on the use of the NYC version of "Idiot Wind", speaking of Bob. It's almost a different song, just because of his change in tone. But it's still pretty pissed off.
