ok, to be fair, i'll start off by mentioning that this is not an actual cassette, but two play lists on my computer, titled "hairstyles of the damned side 1" and "hairstyles of the damned side 2", respectively. both play lists come out to 1 hour each, which, if it were to be transferred to cassette, would fit on a 120 minute tape.

moving on, the title is taken from joe meno's novel of the same name. i'm re-reading it (it's been 3 or 4 years since i last read it (for the first time.)) if you have not read this book, you should. it's about a kid in high school who's in love with his best friend, and throughout the book he struggles with girls, friends, family, school, and mix tapes. i felt like making a mix i could listen to while reading this book (on the bus or train or waiting for the bus or train, or even at home on the couch) that would enhance the experience. the track list is a bit bizarre, but it suits my own experiences with love and music. if you have read this book, then you know how great it is. also, if you've read the book, you will notice three songs on this mix that pay homage to the character in the book.
