October was light on travel, with only a quick jaunt through Brazil on my itinerary, but allowed me to drum up some trouble at home. The weather was beautiful, and activities were a plenty.

I saw The Drums, Surfer Blood, Dan Black, Pictureplane, as well as Sleigh Bells for a second time. My favorite concert of the year, though, has to go to Hot Chip/LCD Soundsystem, who had me dancing and screaming along in a sweaty mass of people who were much younger than me, though I didn't notice until it was all over.

The mix itself is very heavy on my year-end favorites, especially Spoon, The Dead Weather, Underworld, Arcade Fire, the ubiquitous LCD. . . and Kanye's 'Runaway' has all the makings of the best single of his career.
