"Currently chasing whiskey with whiskey. We know how this turns out." -@michaelroche 11/12/10

FYI - Cassius track SHOULD READ "I (heart emoticon) U So"

Aside from a very short jaunt to Istanbul and Belgium, my feet were firmly planted on home soil, here in Chicago. The weather finally turned frigid and the days drastically shorter. After my previous binge of concert attendance, I curtailed my itinerary and only partook of a Twin Shadow performance, which made me love the album even more.

Thanksgiving week was VERY busy, as I was pulling DJ booth duties at Spy Bar, minding Cedric Gervais, Richie Hawtin & Dubfire as well as frolicking with visiting friends in-between epic portions of food.

This mix is a little darker. . . there's something about the beginning of winter, getting accustomed to the dark & cold, that brings out the more animal instincts in me.

Also, whiskey.

The opener is the original version of J. Spaceman's opus, but was changed after licensing issues. I love the transition into Helicopter, another of my favorites of 2010. I've also been addicted to the Cassius track for a few weeks now. . . house samples through a dubstep varietal that works so well. . . the last three tracks really piece together well so easily, I couldn't resist.

On a personal level, this monthly music journal-ist has FINALLY caught up chronologically with the present day. It's hard to believe that beginning in March I had just posted a mix from Dec 2008. Anyway, GOAL ACHIEVED!! Thank you all for your comments and kind words, they are much appreciated.

This totally frees up some time for more alt-DJ mixes and grandiose theme mixes!! ;)
