Comment:
I suppose the common thread is that these are all songs I wanted to hear on my commute.Track #5 is so gorgeous and sad that it made me cry when I heard it live in Portland, and I sometimes have to skip it, but I thought you should all know about it.
I think about how you can't force a dance party (#7) as a metaphor for so many things that I wanted to clue you in.
I know every single word to track #12, and have as long as I can remember. That's a secret for you.
The line in #16 about drunk girls knowing love is an astronaut is the best song lyric written in years, in my opinion.
#19 was my biggest discovery when I was in Pittsburgh learning about Dvorak this summer, except that it hasn't been recorded on the piano, which is the way I discovered it. SO lovely. Dvorak wrote it after spending a summer in Iowa. Doesn't it sound like the Great Plains?
